The company, founded in February 1979, today specializes in several international market niches:

• digitalization of written cultural heritage resources
• industrial production monitoring
• development of innovative digital vision solutions

i2S Group designs, manufactures and distributes intelligent cameras, scanners, specialized opto-electronic systems and software systems for image processing and embedded analysis.

Organization

i2S Group is organized into three business units:

• i2s DigiBook: digitization of written cultural heritage resources
• i2S Linescan: monitoring of the manufacturing of continuous-web and sheet materials
• i2s Vision: development of innovative digital vision solutions and distribution of major brand vision components

To maintain its position as technological leader, the i2S group has a strong R&D presence:

• internal: its own Innovation division (>10% sales in R&D)
• external: located in the heart of the French Optics Valley and aerospace region i2S benefits from the large number of research centers in the region dedicated to optics, laser and embedded systems.

Implementations

The main production unit, the administrative offices and the head office are located in Pessac, in the Bordeaux region. i2S also has a sales office in Paris, and two subsidiaries in Orange (Connecticut – USA) and Shanghai (China).

i2S currently employs about 60 people and recorded €12.3 million in sales in 2006.
